What to bring: FAQ

FOOD AND DRINK

  • Bottled water

  • Ginger Nut biscuits

  • Dried ginger

  • Fruit Sugar

  • Hot Chocolate powder

  • Tea bags

  • Chocolate Swiss rolls or similar

  • Bananas

  • Selection of sandwiches (for crew)

  • Selection of pot noodles (for crew)

  • Plenty of food

SAFETY AND MEDICINE

  • Vaseline/Grease

  • Waterproof sun cream (highest factor possible)

  • “Sea Legs” anti-seasickness pills

  • Ibuprofen (not water soluble)

  • Paracetamol

  • Antihistamine tablets 

  • Sudocrem (1 tub)

WHAT TO WEAR

  • Swimming costume

  • A pair of goggles

  • Silicone swimming hat

  • Warm clothes and beanie

  • Waterproof jacket (it is Scotland!)

  • Large towels

  • Warm blankets

  • Gloves (to apply Vaseline)

  • Sleeping bag

  • Light sticks (5 minimum)

  • Large safety pins (5 minimum)

  • White board with marker pens

  • Stopwatch

  • Mobile phone with plenty of battery life with all useful numbers

  • Chargers for phones, cameras etc

  • Waterproof throwaway camera for finish

  • Bin bags for rubbish
